ANALISIS KESALAHAN PENGGUNAAN TANDA BACA PADA TEKS NARASI SISWA KELAS IV SD NEGERI CIJAMBU I KECAMATAN TANJUNGSARI KABUPATEN SUMEDANG TAHUN PELAJARAN 2024/2025

This study aims to analyze the errors in the use of punctuation in the narrative texts of grade IV students of Cijambu I Elementary School, Tanjungsari District, Sumedang Regency in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The data in this study were obtained through tests and narrative text documents of grade IV students totaling 16 narrative texts. Data analysis techniques consist of data collection, identification of errors in the use of punctuation, grouping errors in the use of punctuation based on the form of the error, explaining errors in the use of punctuation based on its form, and drawing conclusions about errors in the use of punctuation. The results of the study showed that the most common errors in the use of punctuation were found in students' narrative texts, namely, the incorrect use of commas (,) reaching 38.5%. This is because students do not use commas (,) between elements in the details, do not use commas (,) before conjunctions, do not use commas (,) to separate subordinate clauses that precede their main clauses, do not use commas (,) after inter-sentence conjunctions, and do not use commas (,) to separate direct quotations from other parts of the sentence.
