Abstract

This research is motivated by the low critical thinking ability of fourth-grade students of SDN Jambu, Cisarua District, Sumedang Regency, in the 2024/2025 academic year, which is influenced by the lecture method that does not involve students enough. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of the guided inquiry model on critical thinking ability on magnetic force material. This quantitative research uses a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design on 24 students. Data were collected with a 5-question essay test and analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and paired t-test. The results show that the average posttest score (66.04) is higher than the pretest (47.08) with a significance value of 0.00 <0.05, so the guided inquiry model has a significant effect on critical thinking ability in science learning on magnetic force material of fourth-grade students of SDN Jambu, Cisarua District, Sumedang Regency, in the 2024/2025 academic year.
