PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PAIRED STORYTELLING TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN LITERASI SAINS SISWA PADA MATA PELAJARAN IPAS

This study was motivated by the low level of students' scientific literacy skills, particularly in connecting scientific concepts with everyday life. The purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of the paired storytelling learning model on the scientific literacy skills of fifth-grade students at SDN Sukamaju in the IPAS (Science and Social Studies Integration) subject. The method used in this study is a pre-experimental design, specifically the one-group pretest-posttest
design. The sampling technique employed is probability sampling with the type of simple random sampling. The sample consists of 26 fifth-grade students. Data collection techniques include both test and non-test methods. The research instruments used are a scientific literacy skills test sheet and an implementation observation sheet for the learning model. The data analysis techniques in this study include validity testing, reliability testing, normality testing, t-test, and effect size test. The results showed a difference in the average pretest and posttest scores of students' scientific literacy skills, as evidenced by the t-test results where the Sig. (2-tailed) value in the Paired Sample t-Test was 0.00 < 0.05, and the effect size value was 0.68, indicating a moderate category. Furthermore, the implementation of the paired storytelling learning model reached a percentage of 92.3%, which falls under the "very good" category. This means all stages of the paired storytelling model were carried out very well according to the plan, creating an optimal learning environment and achieving learning objectives. Therefore, it can be concluded that the paired storytelling learning model has a positive effect on students’ scientific literacy skills in the IPAS subject, particularly on the topic of changes in natural conditions, in class V at SDN Sukamaju, Sumedang Utara Subdistrict, Sumedang Regency, Academic Year 2024/2025. The model falls into the moderate category and can thus serve as an alternative approach to enhance students' scientific literacy skills.
