PENGARUH MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING (PBL) BERBANTUAN MEDIA SIMETRI PUTAR TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PENALARAN MATEMATIS PADA MATA PELAJARAN MATEMATIKA MATERI BANGUN DATAR

This research is motivated by the low mathematical reasoning abilities of fourth-grade students at SDN Kamenteng, which is evident from their difficulties in explaining problem-solving processes, predicting outcomes, and making logical conclusions. The results of PISA 2018 indicate that Indonesia ranks low. To address this issue, the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by rotational symmetry media was implemented. This study aims to determine the effect of the PBL model on students’ mathematical reasoning abilities in the context of flat shapes. The method used is an experiment with a one-group pre-test post-test design. The population and sample of the study consist of 17 fourth-grade students. The research instrument is a mathematical reasoning ability test consisting of 5 validated questions. Data analysis includes Lilliefors normality test, t-test, and N-Gain test. The results of the normality test indicate that the data are normally distributed (Lhitung pre-test 0.141 and post-test 0.168 < Ltabel 0.206). The t-test yields a p-value of 0.000 (< 0.05), leading to the rejection of H₀. This indicates a significant effect of the PBL model assisted by rotational symmetry media on mathematical reasoning abilities. The N-Gain test result of 0.68 indicates a moderate improvement.
