Abstract

The energy crisis that has hit the world has caused the cost of basic electricity tariffs to rise, because fuel is still the main energy to drive the electric energy generation system. The increase in the cost of the basic electricity tariff makes electricity consumers do many things to save electricity usage. New innovations have sprung up to help save electricity. Some of these innovations were also accompanied by the convenience for humans to operate things they used to do themselves but were replaced by an automatic system. The media that can be used to increase work efficiency is the internet. The internet provides various functions and facilities that can be used as a sophisticated information and communication medium. The remote control system makes it easy for users to control lights that are far away. internet of Things (IOTs) is a concept that aims to expand the benefits of internet connectivity that is connected continuously. Arduino is one of the components of the internet of Things (IOTs) which can be applied as a remote control with an internet network that can be applied to electronic equipment such as lights. The device can be accessed with internet services via android and Arduino based devices so there is no need to come to the location to activate or deactivate the device. in this research, the writer tries to use Arduino microcontroller to be used as an automatic lighting system that can control house lights by using the Prototype method. The design of this light system can produce solutions to problems when the user forgets or is not at home so that the lights continue to burn and waste electrical energy. With this system, it is hoped that it can help save electricity usage at home.
