Abstract

In the current era of globalization, ease and efficiency of time and energy are the main considerations for humans in carrying out activities and there are still many plantations that use manual methods every day in watering plants, therefore the authors are trying to make IoT-based smart gardens to do watering automatically. In this tool the author uses a soil moisture sensor, DHT11 and Node MCU as the main control and control in the tool. This tool can also display soil and air conditions according to the reading from the soil moisture sensor and dht11 in the form of values on the application smartphone. This tool is also equipped with a water pump to do watering. This tool is very useful for humans today, because with this tool humans no longer need to water plants manually every day. With the use of the method prototype which consists of 4 stages, the first is to analyze the system requirements then make a system design consisting of hardware design and software design then the testing stage of the system being made and the last stage is to evaluate and implement if the system made is not suitable desired, it will return to the design stage and so on until it gets the desired results. The test results from 5 to 10 times the testing stages found that this system functions properly according to what is desired, such as watering and monitoring soil and air conditions using a smartphone with a fast response time. This tool is very useful for users who apply tools in plantations because this tool can help users to water automatically and can see the state of the soil and air conditions using a smartphone. The use of the Blynk application as a means of communicating between devices and smartphones makes it easier for users to read conditions and do watering.
